Participants’ Excursions
The Penang War Museum
The Penang War Museum, known as the largest war museum in Southeast Asia, sits strategically on top Batu Maung Hill on the southeastern side of Penang Island. Originally constructed by the British in the 1930s as a military fortress, the site spans 19.36 acres and offers an impressive 320-degree panoramic view of the surrounding sea
This vantage point was intended to protect the Straits of Malacca from potential Japanese invasions approaching through the southern channel. This short trip can help students to understand the consequences of war and how we can build global leaders through peace, not agression.
Escape Penang
There are certain childhood joys that you do not outgrow – clambering up trees, hanging and swinging from ropes. At Escape, you get to do all of that but with higher intensity levels that only increase the fun. Get your adrenaline rush by doing back flips on trapeze swings, gliding from the top of trees by zip line or by sliding down the tubby race. Fret not though, all this is done with an auto-belay system or safety nets securely in place. Worrying will not get in the way of exhilaration here at Escape.
The venue is truly for everyone as activities are designed for younger children as well. For the active ones, there is the Zoom Bug, a human-powered go-kart and the Foxy Burrow caving adventure. Tiny tots, on the other hand, can have some playtime at the Discovery Dig where they pretend to be miners sifting through sand to locate gems.
A departure from the conventional idea of roller-coaster rides, Escape is an outdoor theme park with challenging activities and games suited for children and adults. Sprawled over 22 acres, the park comprises of Adventureplay, Gravityplay and Waterplay that includes the World's Longest Water Slide.
