Every year, close to 2,000 students from across the UK and Ireland take part in Oxford Schools', representing over 250 schools. Hundreds more join through the international qualifying rounds, which are hosted in more than 20 countries across every continent except Antarctica. Intertext is proud to serve as the exclusive partner for the Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, and Japan qualifiers.

The competition offers students an outstanding platform to strengthen their confidence and develop key skills in public speaking, structured argumentation, and analytical thinking, while connecting with some of the most talented young speakers from around the region and the world. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome to participate.

The highest-performing teams advance to Finals Day at the historic Oxford Union. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious debating societies, the Union has hosted many of history’s most influential figures for more than 195 years, upholding a rich tradition of passionate debate and fearless exchange of ideas. Competing on this stage allows students to become part of a global debating legacy that stretches across generations and continents.
